With a dedication and commitment to "giving back" to the community since founding Midwest Mortgage Capital in 2001, Managing Partner George DeMare along with co-founder Jerry Frost, decided that the fruits of their success in the mortgage and financing industry should be shared within the community they serve. Each of these gentlemen know what it is to be blessed with healthy, happy children; and are humbled by their professional success here in St. Louis. As all great minds think alike, Jerry and George chose to support charities and non-profits with those same two criteria in mind; children, and keeping their support here in St. Louis.

Introduced to Friends of Wings board members at an event attended by mutual friends of George and his wife, the pair were very impressed with the mission of Friends of Wings, and their commitment to such an incredible cause. Both George and co-founder Jerry had spent years seeking that perfect match in a charity that they felt Midwest Mortgage Capital could support. Shortly after that fateful evening amongst friends, serendipity took place and that perfect match was made.

On May 4th, more than 144 people turned out for this fabulous and fun golf event benefiting not only the children and families receiving care from Friends of Wings, but also the beauty, artistry and progressive nature of St. Louis! Friends of Wings has sponsored a citywide public art project called Wings in the City” that will raise funds for the Expressive Therapy Program offered by Friends of Wings. Fiberglass butterflies will be painted by local artists in partnership with a sponsoring individual or organization. Wings in the City” will soon present this charitable public art project showcasing more than 50 beautiful butterflies all throughout St Louis.

George DeMare has this to say about the event, "For our first annual golf event we feel things could not have been more perfect". With local radio and TV sportscaster Martin Kilcoyne kicking off the event, we all enjoyed a great day of golf, knowing everything we raised was going to a truly wonderful charity. We are so excited to be affiliated with Friends of Wings, and are honored to be sponsoring one of the butterflies to be displayed around St Louis through the Wings in the City project. Our golf event was a great start to a long lasting relationship between Friends of Wings and Midwest Mortgage Capital.”
