TIPS FOR A SMOOTH TRANSACTION

DON'Ts

DON’T pay off derogatory debt (collections, chargeoffs, judgements, etc.) without conferring with your Mortgage Consultant.

DON’T make any big purchases (car, boat, jewelry, furniture, elective surgery, etc.), even on same-as-cash financing.

DON’T pay off or close any credit card accounts or loans before discussing it with your Mortgage Consultant.

DON’T start any home improvement projects.

DON’T apply for or open any new credit (this includes responding to cards for which you’re “preapproved”).

DON’T transfer any balances from one credit account to another.

DOs

DO keep the same insurance company.

DO let your Mortgage Consultant know of any changes to your income or employment.

DO keep a paper trail of any asset liquidation prior to closing.

DO respond promptly to your Realtor and Mortgage Consultant.

DO continue living at your current residence.

DO continue your usual spending patterns.

DO make timely payments on all accounts, including your mortgage or rent.
